Working With Time
Timer
Use the timer when you want a live record of work as it happens. Each entry should be tied to the right client, project, and task so reporting and invoicing stay clean.
Manual Entries
Add manual entries for work recorded elsewhere, quick fixes, or admin time. Keep notes concise and client-ready when the entry may later appear on an invoice.
Billable Work
Mark entries as billable when they should be charged to a client. MintStint keeps unbilled work visible so you can review it before creating invoice lines.
Billable time can be converted into invoice rows from the invoice workspace, where you can combine tracked work with manual lines, recurring package lines, and the payment details that will be sent to the client.
Rate Presets
Create named personal rate presets in Settings. A preset can apply to all work, one client, or one project, and can begin on a future effective date. When no rate is entered manually, MintStint checks project presets first, then client and general presets, followed by the project and workspace defaults.
Saved time entries keep the rate captured when they were created, so editing a preset does not rewrite previously tracked work.
