Sending Invoices

Drafting

Start an invoice from a client, project, or selected billable time entries. Review descriptions, quantities, rates, GST, due dates, and payment instructions before sending.

Add your business contact, address, and bank details in Settings. MintStint copies the current default payment instructions into each new invoice so later workspace changes do not rewrite an existing invoice.

GST Settings

MintStint supports GST-ready invoice settings for New Zealand businesses. You remain responsible for checking whether GST applies to your work and for keeping your business details correct.

Invoice totals use exact cents by default. A workspace can instead round new invoice totals to the nearest five cents, and individual clients can override that default. MintStint stores the rounding method and adjustment on each invoice, so changing a default does not rewrite existing invoices.

Delivery and Client View

Send an invoice by email once the client, due date, line items, and payment details look right. MintStint includes a secure client invoice link in the email so the recipient can open a clean web view without needing a workspace login.

When a client opens that invoice link, MintStint records the first view and can move the invoice from sent to viewed. Use the protected invoice detail view if you want to open the same client-facing page yourself before or after sending.

Print and PDF

Open an invoice and choose Print / save PDF to create a clean client document containing your business identity, client billing details, line items, GST totals, payment details, and notes. Use the browser print dialog to print it or save a PDF.

Status, Payments, and Reminders

Track invoices from draft through sent, viewed, paid, overdue, amended, or refunded states. MintStint can also record payment dates, references, and notes so you have a proper settlement history instead of relying on a bare status change.

Recurring invoices and automated reminders are included for workflows that need more follow-up. A recurring template can run without a fixed end, or stop after an end date or invoice limit.

Recurring templates can include multiple line items, which is useful for retainers, support bundles, or monthly packages that always bill as more than one row. Workspace owners and admins can create a client-specific recurring schedule from that client's detail page, while the full schedule remains available in Invoices for editing, pausing, and manual generation.

A recurring schedule can also keep its own payment instructions. That lets you preserve client-specific remittance wording for a package or retainer without changing the workspace default used by other invoices.
